MINUTES OF MEETING
DEVILS LAKE, ND
SEPTEMBER 20, 2018

President Myron DeMers called the meeting to order and offered a prayer.

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
The secretary’s minutes for the August meeting at Jamestown were passed around, motion by John Evans and seconded by Cathy Hilly to approve the minutes, motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Treasurer, Mark Collins, reported a beginning balance of (from Aug 18): $1081.67

Aug Income:         
            Member dues     $10.00                         
Aug Expense:                .00


Ending Balance      $1091.67

CORRESPONDANCE: Letter from prospective new Winnebago owner, they declined membership in our club.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Settled at last meeting, all officers will keep their positions.

SUNSHINE COMMITTEE: Betty LeBrun took flowers to Al Belyea and today, Judy Leier took something to Doris Jewett, she suffered a concussion at the beginning of the campout.

MEMBERSHIP: Helen Evans passed around a new tri-fold membership application for prospective new members. It is a very nice application that has information about our club, things we enjoy when getting together and of course, the form for applicants’ information. The new applications were handed around and if anyone has any suggestions-additions-corrections, note them and get it back to Helen.

President Myron said he has asked our WIT Reps for names of new owners of Winnebagos in Western Minnesota and Northern South Dakota so we can send them an application and letter.

2019 CAMPOUTS: all dates are Wednesday and Thursday, leaving Friday morning.

MAY   -   29th & 30th – BREWER LAKE – HOSTS:  Lebruns and Leiers

JUNE   -  19th & 20th  -  DICKINSON – North Park,  HOSTS:  Evans and Danielsons

JULY  -                           GNR

AUGUST   21st & 22nd   NEW ROCKFORD, new campground, Bison Lodge, and they
        have plays throughout the summer.  HOSTS:  Hilleys and TBD      
SEPTEMBER  11TH & 12TH      somewhere around VALLEY CITY,  Hosts and   
                    Campground to be determined later.                           

FOR THE GOOD OF THE CLUB and other news:

Betty LeBrun said thank you to our camp hosts, Leiers and Jewetts. Cathy Hilley said Thank you to Vern Jewett for a wonderful tour of Camp Grafton. Get well wishes go out to Doris Jewett.

We discussed the Host Fee Income and expense, and have decided to suspend this for now. We will take this up again next year and maybe we will consider a building/shelter fee instead.

Donna’s Campout notes:

Weather was kind of awful, really windy, rained and that made us think of scheduling next years September campout one week earlier. Colleen and Al Belyea came over for a visit, they didn’t bring their camper; we all enjoyed seeing them. Vern & Doris Jewett had lined up a very interesting and informative tour of Camp Grafton, We toured the “School House” which is a regional training center for all branches of the military as well as police and highway patrol, etc, also toured their Chapel and the Governors House.
We had a nice campground, it was by a car wash and I think we were all interested by the heavy traffic coming through the car wash, and such clean cars going in to be washed!, we found out they had a membership and could wash their car every day. For happy hour on Wednesday, Vern Jewett made us some extra tasty little fried things wrapped in bacon. Our Wednesday pot luck supper featured delicious pulled pork sandwiches and other good things and desert! Thursday evening supper was at Pizza Ranch, and because of the rain, Friday morning breakfast was moved to Main Street Café which was downtown.

I brought my baby ducks to the campout, 3 assorted, leftovers from the Tractor Supply Store in Hazen.
