Useful Microsoft Programs

Microsoft PowerToys are useful free programs. Image Resizer is a particularly useful add-on. Once installed, you just click on an image and you can resize original or make a copy in 4 preset sizes or a custom size. RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer and CD Slideshow Generator are also nice.

Here is an interesting article in the Mitchell SD Daily Republic. A reporter counted the RVs for a week at Walmart & Cableas. There were 135, with 36 on a single night Thursday.

Emergency Beacon and Location Marker

Here is a device that for it's potential benefits is very reasonable. It is called SPOT and is a satellite beacon that can call 911 for you or send a non emergency message to a list you create. With the non emergency message it can be used for things like breaking down on the road. Cost is only $169 plus $99.99/yr subscription. You can get a tracking option for $49.99/hr that lets people see where you are on Google Maps. For $7.95/yr, you can get insurance to provide up to $100,000 of extra resources to help get you, such as a helicopter.

Motorhome, Police Car & Semi Accident

Here is a video of an accident where a motorhome driver who had hit a deer pulled over onto the shoulder, a police car stopped to give him aid and a semi side swiped the motorhome ripping the entire drvers side off with 9 passengers inside the motorhome. It happened on I435 near Kansas Scit.

Enchanted Hiway

For those that haven't driven the Enchanted Hiway it might be worth doing on the way to or from Medora. It is a series of very large scrap metal sculptures don by artist Gary Greff. There is an Enchanted Highway gift shop in Regent, ND. From I94 take the Gladstone Exit 72, 20 mi east of Dickinson.
